For anyone who wondered why the givens say 56, it indicates the amount of cells left to fill in the grid.

Hah, that's creative I'm sick of sudoku, though. Wonder if sudoku variations would be a good addition to the site...

Well there's skyscrapers, futoshiki and staircases. Which are all latin square variants.
Kinda got in this sudoku creating mood lately. Trying to play with the designs a little.

I meant more direct variations on sudoku like Samurai, Killer, X, Consecutive, etc. Or perhaps even Battleship Sudoku

I'd enjoy killer sudoku too. Always have fun designing those. Made a really nice set of cylindrical (killer) sudokus based on the number pi for a puzzle competition.

I had to check the puzzle now to see what you meant. Did not notice it before when I solved it.
