Hey, I decided to just pop in today. I've just not had the time to go through the puzzles in the vestibule lately. Another thing to note is that puzzle ratings have apparently been getting steadily harder and harder; what used to be a 3-star puzzle is now a 2-star puzzle a lot of the time. Which means that it's getting harder and harder to verify these puzzles. Getting more judges would definitely help.
Yep, looks like the scheduling mechanism's corrupted again. I'll ping Thierry to fix it.

I may have found a second solution. What is wrong with: singles at (1,6), (2,8), (3,6), (9,1), doubles at (5,6-7), (7-8,5), (8-9,9), triples at (1,2-4), (4-6,9), quad at (5,1-4)?

The single circle at (7,5) indicates a single ship, not merely a ship piece.
Sorry everyone, I'd missed that while verifying the puzzle. I've withdrawn it.
The official decision is that Mine Shaft puzzles do not contain any loops. I've added this to the English rules and am currently waiting for one of the moderators who know Dutch to add them to the Dutch rules.
I'm fairly certain loops are allowed, though I'll have to ask Thierry or someone to verify this for me.

Once we have an answer, I'll put that in the rules.

If you could retract the published ones around the same time tomorrow, that would be great.

Done.

I like that suggestion. If one of the judges could retract them (since it involves re-entering and re-checking the solution), I will adjust them. Let's start with just the unpublished ones.

Retracted the unpublished ones. I assume I'll be retracting the published ones when you're done with those?
Well, he did try to do the right thing.

It was new to me, but if I understood edderiofer's judgement correctly, he has seen sentences before.

Yes, that is correct. Specifically, @Jack_L_Lance on Twitter has made five of these! (One of them is a Futari, where there may be two unshaded copies of each letter in each row or column, and another is on his blog.)

Then a Fences is an example of how things can go wrong. I thought that I checked it rigorously, but at some point I must have written off a path that was possible after all. So there was another solution. And why is it in the silo? Murphy's Law worked so that it has slipped there and must be retracted. So the system can go wrong, too. Sorry for the trouble, folks.

Oops, I must have accidentally clicked the "accept" option when I shouldn't have. Silly me, this has now been fixed.

Dealt with.
Note that *all* directions on a clue with the closest distance to a pentomino are marked, like Myopia. Thus, directions *without* an arrow do not immediately point to black squares.
That's odd; when I try doing it, I get 4330 puzzles logged out as well, but 4333 puzzles logged in. Clearly it's something user-specific...
