While I was at a local bookstore, I happened upon the most fail-tastic puzzle magazine in the history of the universe. In fact, it was so fail-tastic, that I submitted it to Failblog.

The outlined box in the upper right has three 9's.

HOW THE HECK DID THEY FAIL TO NOTICE THREE 9'S????

If you agree with me that this is the most fail-tastic thing ever, please go to http://cheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=4676527 and vote for this picture by clicking the cheeseburgers right above the picture! Your votes will help this fail-tastic piece of crud possibly get posted on Failblog for the whole world to see! Help a fellow out, won't ya?
I neglected to post about it here 20 days ago, when I originally posted it on my blog, but I have posted yet another 31x45 Fences puzzle. In case one isn't enough. . .
Number: Puzzle #1232
Genre: Catwalk

This reminds me of Dell Publications' Math Mazes.

Also, your solution is counted as incorrect if it has X's in any grid cells.
Good job, Maarten! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback.
Yajilin isn't on PuzzlePicnic, although I suspect it could be implemented easily. Yajilin consists of a grid in which some cells contain numbered arrows; you must shade in some cells such that every number represents how many shaded cells are in the row or column that the arrow points at. You cannot, however, shade in cells with arrows, nor can you shade in two cells which share an edge. In addition, you must draw a loop of horizontal and vertical line segments that passes through every cell that isn't shaded and that doesn't contain an arrow. Here is a 7x7 sample puzzle and its solution.

Here is a 31x45 Yajilin puzzle (referred to as Straight and Arrow on my blog). If you'd prefer to start with a small puzzle, this fairly easy one is just 10x10. Here is a 10x18 puzzle where the only number in the whole puzzle is the number 1. I hope you enjoy these puzzles!
Why, thank you! I really had no specific goal in mind when I started constructing this, but after placing the first few numbers, that specific arrangement called out to me, and I worked to fit the rest of the clues into that arrangement. It was very rewarding to construct!
Akari is a genre that isn't on this site yet. The solver is given a grid with some black cells, and is tasked to place light bulbs on the white cells, each bulb illuminating its row and column up to the perimeter, or the first black cell encountered. Every white cell must be illuminated, but no two light bulbs may illuminate one another. Some black cells are numbered, representing how many light bulbs are on cells which share an edge with that cell. This page contains a 7x7 sample puzzle and its solution.

A 31x45 puzzle may be found here. Enjoy!
Also, here is every Tetra Firma I've ever created. Besides the 31x45 one above, they range from 10x10 to 20x36 in size.

Not that I've solved this one, but should the length of the snake be 48 (instead of 47 as posted)? The clues suggest 46 body segments in addition to the head and tail.

I just like things to be tidy

Here's what you're missing: The head is included in the column counts, and the tail is included in the row counts. So there are 46 squares plus the head, or 46 squares plus the tail.

Those were very nice! I support the implementation of LITS too.

I gather that you managed to complete that behemoth, then? I definitely want to see LITS puzzles here; I think it'd be interesting to see what kinds of LITS puzzles others would cosntruct; I might even contemplate a Logicsmith Exhibition of LITS.
LITS is a puzzle genre that doesn't appear on Puzzle Picnic yet, but I have requested it, because it's an incredibly awesome genre. An LITS puzzle consists of a grid which has been partitioned into sections; you must shade in a single tetromino in each section. No two congruent tetrominoes may share an edge, and just like the water cells in Stream Islands, the shaded cells must all form one connected region without any 2x2 areas that are entirely black. This page contains a simple 7x7 example puzzle and its solution to help illustrate these rules.

Once you understand the rules, feel free to jump right in and start working on my blog's milestone 150th puzzle, which is a 31x45 LITS (referred to as Tetra Firma there). Alternatively, if you're not insanely masochistic, you can work on smaller puzzles, like this one or this one, first.

I sincerely hope that LITS gets added to this site soon; I believe these three puzzles illustrate the genre's possibilities quite well.
Uh-oh. . .

I think the current solution is wrong. D: It should be fixed!

I'd like to congratulate you on this Masyu construction feat, where not only are the givens arranged with 180-degree rotational symmetry (as has been seen in some of my own submissions, as well), but every given is symmetrically opposite a given of the opposite color. I have seen multiple Masyu puzzles with this property in Nikoli's publications, but never made one; I shall have to try harder. *laughs*

Edit: I did it! Expect a new awesome Masyu in the vestibule soon!
Thank you! I liked the minimalism here, myself.
Hello, jeoen! As the author of four of the Fences puzzles on this site (as well as a bunch that are too large to publish on PuzzlePicnic!), I sincerely hope you enjoy these puzzles and this site!

Also, what Johan said about the right mouse button.
