Enter the fleet into the diagram, making sure that the given numbers outside the diagram equal the sum of the covered numbers in the corresponding row or column. Different ships cannot touch each other, not even diagonally.

Different from in normal Battleships puzzles, the numbers next to the diagram do not show the number of ship pieces in each row or column, but rather the total weight of the cargo on these ship pieces. A ship piece has as much cargo as the number in that cell indicates.


In this example, the top row has only a weight of 1. This means that the top left cell and the cell next to it cannot be ship pieces, since they would immediately weigh too much. Now, the leftmost column must have a total weight of 5, meaning that the remaining three cells (equalling 3+1+1=5) must all be ship pieces.

Now, the second column must be empty because of the adjacency rules, and the second and fourth row must be empty because of the weight restriction. In the third column, both remaining cells need to be used to get a weight of 3. In the last column, we cannot use the 1 because it weighs more than 0. However, we do need to use the 0 in the top right to get the right fleet. Puzzle solved!
